About
The Growth Approach was founded on the belief that everyone is capable of growing and creating a life they love.
Hi, I'm Mico Nunes. Certified Relationship Coach and Integrated Attachment Theory Practitioner.
Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, I have always been passionate about understanding and exploring the inner workings of peoples hearts, minds, and relationships.
I help individuals worldwide to improve their lives and relationships through a structured, research-based approach that's designed to heal insecure attachment at its roots.
What's it like working with me?
I value authenticity, compassion, growth, and humour in my work with clients. Bring all of you. Nothing is off the table.
My focus and goal during our work together will be to create a safe space for you to learn how to process thoughts and emotions in a way that improves your relationships with others, and to work together to help you move towards the relationships you want.
I will always be honest with you and will question you about things I notice so that we can explore, understand them, brainstorm alternatives, and make real progress.
I will never lie to you or tell you what I think you want to hear.
Together, we can build the insight and skills necessary for you to transform your life.
I create a Personalized Program for you that is tailored to your specific goals.
This is 6 - 18 weeks in length, but clients typically start seeing results long before then.

Who I Help
I help adults who had to grow up too fast improve their love lives by improving how they relate to their thoughts and emotions.
I teach people how to shift the subconscious patterns that cause challenges and how to soothe their emotions so they can build a life they love and intentionally design their lives.
The people I work with are struggling to maintain balance and harmony in their lives, and are ready to dive into understanding themselves and move forward with intentional, solution-oriented strategies.
You'll learn how to feel more resilient to stress throughout their day, be kinder to yourself, expand your comfort zone, feel more fulfilled and connected in relationships, overcome fears that hold you back, set boundaries, navigate difficult relationships, and finally end patterns that no longer support you.
Mission
To help others build stronger, loving relationships by helping them heal themselves with the tools and knowledge that would have helped my own family so much growing up.
Vision
A world with emotional connection and stability in every home, where we feel connected to ourselves and our potential in a way that brings a deep sense of safety, growth and hope.
Purpose
To help others recognize and process their subconscious conditioning in a way deeply honours themselves and creates freedom from their suffering to experience more freedom, self-compassion, and deeply healing love in relationships.

More about me
What we experience impacts us on a neurological, emotional, and even cellular level.
This is especially true for those who have experienced childhood trauma. It’s a lesson I learned as a child being raised by multiple caregivers with Cluster-B personality disorders. I developed a hypersensitivity to people’s moods and could sense when trouble was coming as a result of being subjected to violence almost daily and finding hair falling out in my hands throughout the day at school from that mornings lesson in ‘respect and gratitude’.
As a result of this and other abuse I've experienced, I've had a lifelong interest in understanding and overcoming the profound effects of early trauma - and helping others do the same.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics at Guelph University, after graduating a legislative clerk program at Fanshawe College. Over the course of my studies aspiring to reduce injustices in the legal system and social policies, I saw that access to mental healthcare is one of the most universal barriers that both individuals and families face.
In order to improve my own relationships and wellbeing I studied various modalities such as mindfulness, inner child work, polyvagal theory, and attachment theory. When I began to see the limitations of traditional therapy and structures to access mental health care, I began to explore alternative methods of inner healing and thought-reframing.
I later joined the Personal Development School as a student myself and became a Certified Relationship Coach specializing in Integrated Attachment Theory. I then created The Growth Approach, a private client practice and haven for individuals and couples seeking self-exploration, healing, and personal development.
The framework I share in my work with clients is designed to help individuals identify and work through their subconscious fears and limiting beliefs, allowing them to overcome emotional blocks and achieve greater levels of fulfillment and healing in their lives.
